Anderson Powerpole Pinout
Genderless, color-coded modular DC power connector popular in ham radio, RC, and 12V power distribution.
Overview
Anderson Powerpole (PP15/30/45 series) is a hermaphroditic single-pole connector: every housing is identical and mates with any other, so there is no dedicated male or female side. Each housing carries one contact, and connectors are dovetailed together side-by-side to build multi-pole assemblies.
For a standard DC connection two housings are paired - one red (positive) and one black (negative) - assembled in the ARES/ARRL standard orientation so any two correctly built sets mate without reversing polarity.
Pinout
| Pin | Name | Function | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| + | Positive | POWER / VIDEO | Positive DC supply, conventionally housed in the red shell |
| - | Negative | GND | Negative / return, conventionally housed in the black shell |
Notes
- Genderless: both halves are identical; polarity is set only by housing color and assembly orientation.
- Follow the ARRL/ARES convention (red = +, on the left when viewed contacts-up) for interoperability.
